February 2017: The Future of Virtual Reality- A Panel Discussion lead by Elizabeth Scallon of CoMotion Labs
February’s edition of the Film + Music + Interactive Happy Hour is fast approaching and bound to be a blast. This month’s special guest, Elizabeth Scallon, will host a panel of leading VR experts. Together they will examine the current and future state of the VR/AR industry, the current opportunities to engage, and why creatives hold the power to revolutionize this technology to bring it to every sector of society. Sitting on the panel will be Ryan Smith of Invrse, Lacey Leavitt of Mechanical Dreams, Amy Lillard of Washington Filmworks, Andrew Luck of BANgaud.io, Julia Fryett of Pixvana, Sandy Cioffi of Fearless 360, and Ryan Boudinot. This month’s program also features hands-on interactivity with the latest and greatest in VR/AR technology, and locally produced content.

Bio: Elizabeth Scallon leads CoMotion Labs at the University of Washington, a multi-industry lab system hosting startups inside and outside the UW community. Prior, Elizabeth was one of the early team members of VLST Corporation, part of the inaugural class of biotech startups at Accelerator Corporation, where she helped the company spin out and grow to over 50 employees and $35M in funding. Additionally, Elizabeth has personally mentored over 40 startups, entrepreneurs, innovators, and artists for over a decade both locally and globally. Elizabeth received her Global Executive MBA from Georgetown University and ESADE, where she studied global innovation, entrepreneurship, and incubation with in-country residences in Spain, Brazil, Argentina, China, India, and US.
This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome, must be 21+ to drink.
Parking: There are many parking lots near the museum, as well as metered parking on the side of 5th Avenue N. However, make sure to read surrounding signage because there are restrictions! Please enter at the Culture Kitchen Main Entrance at the corner of 5th and Harrison
Public Transportation: The bus stop at 5th Ave N accommodates King County Metro routes 3, 4, and 82. The monorail from Westlake Center to Seattle Center is also available.
